Genshin Impact 5-Star Characters Tier List

Genshin Impact 5 Star Characters List

There are seven elements or visions in Genshin Impact. One character has only one vision, except Traveler can switch between Geo and Anemo elements.

So we make the lists by the character’s element – Anemo, Cryo, Electro, Geo, Hydro, Pyro, and Dendro.

Right now, no character gets the Dendro element in the game.

Genshin Impact 5 Star Characters with Anemo Vision

Jean is an Anemo character who neatly fits into any support slot. She can also heal decently, though not as well as the more dedicated healers in the party.

But her combination of crowd control abilities and healing output is nothing to scoff at, and she’s a worthy addition to any team.

Like Keqing, you’ll need to unlock Jean via Wishes.

Venti is the best support in the game, and also the best Anemo 5 star character.

He can easily change the layouts of the battlefield by introducing a vortex that sucks in all enemies, opening them up to stacks of Swirl elemental reactions.

His Elemental Skill also allows him to create updrafts that let players fly and glide and also sends enemies up in the air for some crowd control.

Venti then does all of this with his bow, making him a reliable last resort for when other party members are dead and range is the only line of defense left.

Kazuha, otherwise known as a better Venti, “power crept” the Anemo god in such a way that it makes him more desirable.

Kazuha can do what Venti can but more affordably. He has a crowd control ability that’s more spammable since it’s his Elemental Skill.

Moreover, Kazuha can grant heaps of Elemental Mastery and also provide constant Swirl applications with his Elemental Burst. He’s like Venti and Sucrose combined.

To that end, he has seen extensive usage when it comes to players trying out the maximum damage their DPS teams can reach.

As far as Anemo characters go, Xiao is quite a wild breeze since he’s the only DPS-focused among them. He also deals the most damage out of all the Anemo users. Compared to other top-tier DPS characters, Xiao is one of the best.

He can easily out-damage established heavy-hitters like Childe or Diluc, who both rely on elemental reactions. What makes him amazing is that Xiao doesn’t even rely on elemental reactions in order to do this.

That doesn’t mean he’s an independent DPS, though – he needs some Anemo battery characters because of his energy issues.

Genshin Impact 5 Star Characters with Cryo Vision

Aloy’s abilities are simple enough but powerful. Her Elemental Skill gives her Cryo infusion and also deals instant Cryo damage.

With these, she can produce some dizzying reverse Melt combos and also a reliable Freeze setup. Her Elemental Burst deals a big chunk of instant damage.

Eula is considered DPS Queen and has managed to reach more than 4 million damage in a single instance. That’s the highest record right now in the game.

Even more amazing is how all that damage is solely physical and not elemental. Regular players who don’t spend life savings-worth of cash on Genshin Impact can still expect regular 6-digits of physical damage from Eula. That’s still plenty powerful.

Ayaka was one of the first 5-star characters to be released alongside the Inazuma update and she made quite the avalanche. She can easily match the top-tier DPS characters if built right.

Sure enough, building her correctly is also painlessly uncomplicated. Just give her four pieces of the Blizzard Strayer set and an offensive-focused sword and let her rip.

Shenhe performs up to five consecutive spear strikes. After consuming a certain amount of Stamina to lunge forward, she can deal damage to opponents along the way. Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Certain drawbacks prevent Eula from dethroning the certified Ice Queen, Ganyu.

Ganyu doesn’t rely on skills or bursts in order to deal six digits of damage every two seconds; she just needs her charged attacks.

Moreover, her abilities make her more flexible and thus allow her more consistent damage outputs over prolonged fights.

One additional luxury that Ganyu has over other DPS characters is that she’s a bow user. Thus, it’s easy to make her untouchable to the point where she can trivialize the whole game.

Qiqi is a 5-star Cryo fighter as well as one of the support characters. She’ll perform well if you build her to boost Qiqi’s skills.

However, some players complain that she is one of the least-powerful 5 star characters. But it’s understandable for a supporting character.

Qiqi is only available via Wishes.

Genshin Impact 5 Star Characters with Dendro Vision

Genshin Impact 5 Star Characters with Electro Vision

Raiden Shogun 5-star Electro character. Electro is considered one of the weakest right now in terms of elemental reactions, but that didn’t prevent her from flexing some interestingly high damage numbers. Raiden Shogun is a capable sub-DPS and a viable main DPS.

Raiden Shogun is only available via Wishes.

Yae Miko’s elemental skill ability is leaving Sesshou Sakura spirits on the battlefield, which target and strike nearby opponents

Yae Miko can work as either a Main DPS or a Sub-DPS, though she does need another Electro character on her to be able to Burst continuously.

Keqing is a DPS character that has a pretty basic kit. However, she is still the most powerful electro-based character in Genshin Impact right now. Even her element isn’t that much better for physical damage.

Keqing is only available via Wishes.

Genshin Impact 5 Star Characters with Geo Vision

Albedo is another sub-DPS character who’s selfless to completely utilize the geo element for supporting.

His skill can drastically increase the DPS and defensive capability of characters along with the low cooldown.

Albedo’s passives also grant a significant amount of energy recharge.

You guessed it – Albedo is available to unlock through Wishes.

The Traveler is the only free 5-star character that players will ever obtain in Genshin Impact.

The only advantage to starting with Traveler is that you have the opportunity to own two elements – Anemo and Geo.

However, you’ll find both versions of Traveler – despite being technically 5 star – aren’t actually as good as other real 5-star characters.

But they are not bad the first time you play the game.

As the Geo Archon, Zhongli might be the most powerful Geo character for the biggest buff. Geo element is considered to emit huge damage numbers in the game.

Zhongli is pretty necessary right now in order to progress in the Spiral Abyss and against some bosses without much difficulty.

His Elemental Skill does so much, such as providing two kinds of shields, reducing damage resistance, and adding additional damage.

Arataki Itto is a mischievous character full of life and happy to be running around Inazuma City, causing trouble.

He is the new geo five-star and probably the most comical character that has been introduced in the game aside from Klee.

Arataki Itto’s real strength is his normal and charged attacks and how he buffs them with stacks of Superlative Superstrength and the Raging Oni King state he gains from his burst.

As usual, the best weapon for Itto is the five-star claymore that’s dropping alongside him.

Genshin Impact 5 Star Characters with Hydro Vision

Tartaglia (aka Childe) is a 5 star pure DPS hydro character using a Bow, making him a desirable addition to any party.

However, the ranged form of attacks makes him more difficult to damage, compared to other DPS characters.

Tartaglia’s playstyle is also exciting since he can switch to melee and dish out even more damage for faster attacks and better precision.

Kamisato Ayato (Japanese: 神里綾人) is a playable Hydro character in Genshin Impact.

He is the current head of the Kamisato Clan, the older brother of Kamisato Ayaka, and the Yashiro Commissioner.

Kokomi is a supporting character before anything else, though she can fill a sub-DPS role as well. Just don’t expect fireworks.

It turns out the pre-release talent information was true after all, and one of Kokomi’s passive talents drops her critical hit rate by 100%.

When her normal and charged attacks hit opponents, Kokomi will restore HP for all nearby party members, and the amount restored is based on her max HP.

Yelan (Chinese: 夜兰 Yèlán, “Night Orchid”) is a playable Hydro character in Genshin Impact.

She is a mysterious person who claims to work for the Ministry of Civil Affairs. However, she is actually the head of the Yanshang Teahouse.

Unlike Keqing, Mona is a very flashy female character. She can sprint across the water, summon dummies to distract the enemy, and her Ultimate traps your opponents in little bubbles.

She can easily cover the battlefield in hydro damage and status effects.

Unlike other DPS characters, Mona isn’t selfish, and can also be a supplementary damage dealer in addition to being the main one.

Mona is only available via Wishes.

Genshin Impact 5 Star Characters with Pyro Vision

As a DPS character, Diluc is one of the most effortless damage dealers in the game. Give him support, and he’ll suddenly become a speedrunner’s dream main character.

Diluc can clear battlefields with one button and do it again a few seconds later since his skills have a low cooldown.

He’s perfect in every way. The worst thing about Diluc is how hard it is to get him. He is only available via Wishes.

Klee is a Pyro character who can deal the most pyro damage in the shortest amount of time from a relatively safe distance?

Klee throws out bombs like it’s nobody’s business, making her look like being a selfish DPS, even her Pyro element will reduce her performance like this.

When paired with Albedo (assuming the player is lucky enough to have them both), Klee can become an invincible reign of fire and terror that most enemies can’t hit.

Hu Tao once held the record for the second-highest damage in the game, at around 2 million in a single burst.

This makes other Pyro characters’ damage simply pale in comparison to hers. Under the right circumstances, Hu Tao can kill anything in a blink.

However, players shouldn’t expect to reach such astronomical damage numbers easily, since Hu Tao needs an elaborate Melt or Vaporize setup, as well as some risky plays that bring her close to death.

Yoimiya is a good Pyro DPS. Thanks to her element and her fast attacks, she can produce some quick and damaging Vaporize or Melt volleys.

Her gameplay is also simple and she can double as a buffer for the entire team. Yoimiya is considered as a Pyro version of Ganyu, who is Genshin Impact’s current apex predator.

FAQs about Genshin Impact 5 Star Characters

When rolling for 5-star characters, there is a pity system that comes into play. With it, players are guaranteed to get a 5-star character or weapon from the banner they are rolling from as soon as players reach their 90th wish.

5-Star characters usually start out stronger and end up stronger than 4-Star characters but 4-Star characters are easier to get, which is important since characters get bonuses if you get copies of them.

The counter will reset whenever you get something of that rarity, meaning if you get a 5-star at pull 59, it’ll reset to zero.

This is completely random, and there is no way of controlling it. miHoYo Pity resets every time you get a 4 or 5-star pull.

If you’re an incredibly unlucky individual, you’ll need 180 rolls at maximum to get a five-star event character.

The weapon banner works slightly differently, with pity being set at 80 rolls instead of 90. Soft pity on the weapon banner is around 50-60.

Firstly, players are guaranteed to receive a five-star character at least once every 90 wishes from the character event banner.

Ayaka is a 5-star Cryo Sword character in Genshin Impact.

Klee is a Pyro 5 star character that has her own banner in Genshin Impact. When a character has a banner that means there’s a 50/50 shot at whatever 5 star you get is that featured one.

Xiao is a 5-star Anemo Polearm character, adept at dealing huge amounts of AoE damage from Plunging Attacks.

Ganyu is a 5-star bow character who dominates the battlefield with critical Cryo-based attacks, eliminating grouped enemies in a single hit. It’s because of this high damage output, that Ganyu continues to be one of the best characters in Genshin Impact.
