Genehin Impact Ganyu Builds

Ganyu will probably be on the field 99% of the time, only switching out to your sub DPS and supports when you need a little bit of something from them. Aside from that, you’d be sniping from afar with her.

Best Genshin Impact Ganyu Weapons

Ganyu’s best weapon is hands-down Amos’ Bow. However, she has a bit of F2P options. Namely, Prototype Crescent and Hamayumi. If you don’t have Amos’ Bow, other 5-star bows usually do the trick.

Amos’s Bow

Amos' Bow

Increases Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 12%. After a Normal or Charged Attack is fired, DMG dealt increases by a further 8% every 0.1 seconds the arrow is in the air for up to 5 times.

Prototype Crescent

Prototype Crescent

Charged Attack hits on weak points increase Movement SPD by 10% and ATK by 36% for 10s.

Hamayumi

Hamayumi

Increases Normal Attack DMG by 16% and Charged Attack DMG by 12%. When the equipping character’s Energy reaches 100%, this effect is increased by 100%.

Best Genshin Impact Ganyu Artifacts

Ganyu has a general artifact set recommendation, which is the Wanderer’s Troupe.

However, there are other options for her. In theory, you can mix and match any of these 3 artifact sets as long as you get 2 piece from the other and 2 piece from another.

Just look at the substats and see which ones are better. However, if you’re planning on using more Melt reactions, go for Wanderer’s Troupe.

Main stats to look out for are ATK/Elemental Mastery Sands, Cryo DMG% Goblet, Crit Rate/Crit Damage Circlet depending on your Crit rate.

Wanderer's Troupe

Wanderer's Troupe

  • 2-piece effect: Increases Elemental Mastery by 80.
  • 4-piece effect: Increases Charged Attack DMG by 35% if the character uses a Catalyst or Bow.
Blizzard Strayer

Blizzard Strayer

  • 2-piece effect: Cryo DMG Bonus +15%
  • 4-piece effect: When a character attacks an opponent affected by Cryo, their CRIT Rate is increased by 20%. If the opponent is Frozen, CRIT Rate is increased by an additional 20%.
Gladiator's Finale

Gladiator's Finale

  • 2-piece effect: ATK +18%.
  • 4-piece effect: If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack DMG by 35%.
Shimenawa's Reminiscence

Shimenawa's Reminiscence

  •  2-piece effect: ATK +18%
  • 4-piece effect: When casting an Elemental Skill, if the character has 15 or more Energy, they lose 15 Energy and Normal/Charged/Plunging Attack DMG is increased by 50% for 10s. This effect will not trigger again during that duration.
Martial Artist

Martial Artist

  •  2-piece effect: Increases Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 15%.
  • 4-piece effect: After using Elemental Skill, increases Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 25% for 8s.
Resolution of Sojourner

Resolution of Sojourner

  • 2-piece effect: ATK +18%
  • 4-piece effect: Increases Charged Attack CRIT Rate by 30%.

Shimenawa’s Reminiscence is perfect for players using a team centered around melt reactions. Since Ganyu will use her Burst less in this comp, the 15 energy loss isn’t a big deal. The Shimenawa’s Reminiscence 4pc will not only give her an ATK +18% but will also greatly boost her Charge Attack by a substantial margin which is a great trade-off. Melt reactions also benefit greatly from the Elemental Mastery stat.

Martial Artist is a really solid build for new Ganyu users as it really boosts her core strength – her Charged attacks – without any negative costs. Make sure to choose ones with ATK or Cryo Damage substats.

Resolution of Sojourner is the best entry-level build for Ganyu as it can be unlocked early on and boosts her Charged Attack.

FAQs about Genshin Impact Ganyu

Overall, Ganyu is a wonderful unit to have on any account and is a relevant force in any aspect of the game. To summarize, here is the list of reasons why pulling for Ganyu is worth it: You like Ganyu’s design and/or gameplay. You want a powerful DPS/Sub-DPS character.

Over 3000 years old. The age of Ganyu is not obviously stated in the game.

But among her many contracts, Ganyu is the oldest, having been created some 3000 years ago. Ganyu is an illuminated Adeptus, a Qilin, and so she has one of the longest histories among Genshin Impact’s playable characters.

Her birthday is on December 2nd

Ganyu, while really powerful, can easily be defeated when hit by enemies. And is easily one-shot by bosses if you are not able to dodge. It is important to have a shield character in your team when using Ganyu as Main DPS.

Both are paragons of their respective roles: Zhongli has the strongest Shields in the game and Ganyu has the highest DPS in the game.

Yes, because Ganyu is a powerful Cryo Bow user who can also serve as your main DPS. She can easily burst out single to multiple enemies due to her empowered Charged Attacks.

C0 Ganyu is better than C0 Xiao, while her Damage is better. If you are going to pull one of them in C6. Both of them are strong in constellation 6. However, Xiao is much more fun in C6, because he can go through the enemies without cooling down.

A f2p Freeze Ganyu is viable, but all hydro appliers asides from Mona don’t synergize with Ganyu that well for different purposes (Xingqiu requires you to constantly normal attack; Barbara forces you to fight at pretty much point-blank range), and Mona isn’t the most f2p friendly character out there.

Ganyu’s best weapon is hands-down Amos’ Bow. However, she has a bit of F2P options. Namely, Prototype Crescent and Hamayumi. If you don’t have Amos’ Bow, other 5-star bows usually do the trick.

Ganyu’s consistent Cryo damage from her Frostflake Arrows plays great with Hydro characters, especially ones like Xingqiu who can apply Hydro at a distance. With Xingqiu’s Elemental Burst on, you can permanently freeze most enemies as you launch Frostflake Arrows.

Both Ganyu and Xiao shine when it comes to AOE damage.

Ganyu’s Frostflake Bloom (created by her Charged Attack) will deal massive damage while covering a decent area. Xiao’s AOE is larger than Ganyu’s, but is restricted by his Elemental Burst.

Interestingly, in terms of damage, Ayaka overshadows Ganyu easily. However, Ganyu is a very versatile character and arguably is the only character to fulfill both roles perfectly. Therefore, she can be an immense help in Spiral Abyss as well as open-world challenges.

Hu tao can be used as both a main and burst swap. since her burst is the bulk of her damage. Ganyu is best used as a main DPS as she has the most in the game.

Wanderer’s Troupe is a good set for Ganyu, especially if you want her to cause powerful reaction damage with her AoE Cryo. Two-pieces boost elemental mastery by 80, while four-pieces buffs attack damage by 35% if the character uses a bow, which Ganyu does.

It’s her bread and butter thanks to having the best stat increases among all the bow users in the game. Additionally, Ganyu benefits well from having the second-highest base ATK stat in the game, second only to Xiao.

The best team composition for Ganyu includes Bennett, Mona, and Zhongli.

You’ll want to use this Geo-user on a Melt Team with Ganyu, not a Permafreeze Team, as he will highlight non-Cryo attack damage from fellow teammates. He’s also particularly handy to use as protection for Ganyu while she’s charging her aimed shots, and will provide Geo Resonance for the best possible passive damage boosts.

Zhongli is one of the most important characters to have in your ranks, mostly due to his incredibly strong shield, so you’ll want to keep him leveled up as much as possible.

One more solid pick for your Ganyu-based Melt Team, Bennett will consistently provide Pyro damage due to his low cooldowns, and can even apply Pyro damage to your normal attacks at C6 level.

He’ll buff Ganyu’s attacks a lot more than many other characters, and he has a smaller cooldown period, so he recovers quicker than most, too. Bennett tends to be an all-around fan favorite because of his usefulness and synergy with so many other playable characters.

If you want to build a really strong Permafreeze team with Ganyu, you’ll need Mona. Her Hydro skills will complement Ganyu’s Elemental Burst, creating a freeze on any attacking enemies.

Mona requires little to no recovery time, too, so she’ll help keep a constant freeze on targets for Ganyu, and the area her Hydro effects covers is wide-reaching, offering control of more opponents.
