Genshin Impact Gorou Talents (Skills)

The main reason Gorou is considered a niche character is that his kit mostly just benefits Geo characters. His elemental skill’s effect is dependent on how many geo characters are in the team. You mostly want to max that out, especially if you’re running a Geo Main DPS.

For talent priorities, go for:

Elemental Skill
Elemental Burst

Ripping Fang Fletching

Ripping Fang Fletching

Normal Attack

Normal Attack

Perform up to 4 consecutive shots with a bow.

Charged Attack

Perform a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG.

While aiming, stone crystals will accumulate on the arrowhead. A fully charged crystalline arrow will deal Geo DMG.

Plunging Attack

Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Inuzaka All-Round Defense

Inuzaka All-Round Defense

Elemental Skill

Deals AoE Geo DMG and sets up a General’s War Banner.

General’s War Banner

Provides up to 3 buffs to active characters within the skill’s AoE based on the number of Geo characters in the party at the time of casting:

1 Geo character: Adds “Standing Firm” – DEF Bonus.
2 Geo characters: Adds “Impregnable” – Increased resistance to interruption.
3 Geo characters: Adds “Crunch” – Geo DMG Bonus.

Gorou can deploy only 1 General’s War Banner on the field at any one time.

Characters can only benefit from 1 General’s War Banner at a time. When a party member leaves the field, the active buff will last for 2s.

Hold

Adjust the location of the skill.

Juuga: Forward Unto Victory

Juuga: Forward Unto Victory

Elemental Burst

Displaying his valor as a general, Gorou deals AoE Geo DMG and creates a field known as General’s Glory to embolden his comrades.

General’s Glory

This field has the following properties:

Like the General’s War Banner created by Inazuka All-Round Defense, provides buffs to active characters within the skill’s AoE based on the number of Geo characters in the party. Also moves together with your active character.
Generates 1 Crystal Collapse every 1.5s that deals AoE Geo DMG to 1 opponent within the skill’s AoE.
Pulls 1 elemental shard in the skill’s AoE to your active character’s position every 1.5s (elemental shards are created by Crystallize reactions).

If a General’s War banner created by Gorou currently exists on the field when his ability is used, it will be destroyed. In addition, for the duration of General’s Glory, Gorou’s Elemental Skill “Inazuka All-Round Defense” will not create the General’s War Banner.

If Gorou falls, the effects of General’s Glory will be cleared.

Genshin Impact Gorou Constellations from C0 to C6

Gorou is a perfectly fine character without his constellations but C4 is where things can really get spicy for Gorou. C4 makes Gorou a really good healer if you stacked DEF for his stat. C6 will make him a powerhouse in Geo teams.

Rushing Hound: Swift as the Wind

Rushing Hound: Swift as the Wind

Constellation level 1

When characters (other than Gorou) within the AoE of Gorou’s General’s War Banner or General’s Glory deal Geo DMG to opponents, the CD of Gorou’s Inuzaka All-Round Defense is decreased by 2s. This effect can occur once every 10s.

Sitting Hound: Steady as a Clock

Sitting Hound: Steady as a Clock

While General’s Glory is in effect, its duration is extended by 1s when a nearby active character obtains an Elemental Shard from a Crystallize reaction. This effect can occur once every 0.1s. Max extension is 3s.

“Standing Firm”: +10%
“Impregnable”: +20%
“Crunch”: +40%

This effect cannot stack and will take reference from the last instance of the effect that is triggered.

Best Genshin Impact Gorou Team Combo

Gorou

Gorou will be the main support of the team boosting the damage to Itto and Albedo.

Arataki Itto

With Gorou, Arataki Itto will get boosted damage and less interruption.

Albedo

Albedo’s flowers will have more damage because of Defense boost by Gorou.

Xinyan

Gorou’s high Burst cost will make Xinyan easily stack Sigils for her Elemental Burst.

Best Genshin Impact Gorou Builds

Gorou heavily benefits from energy recharge. His elemental burst needs 80 energy to activate, making him one of the characters that are on the higher edge of the spectrum. Aside from that, he also benefits a lot from DEF as some of his skills use this as modifier.

Best Genshin Impat Gorou Weapons

As mentioned earlier, Gorou benefits from having energy recharge as substat. These bows work great for Gorou.

Favonius Warbow

Favonius Warbow

CRIT hits have a 60% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12s.

Elegy for the End

Elegy for the End

A part of the “Millennial Movement” that wanders amidst the winds.

Increases Elemental Mastery by 60.

When the Elemental Skills or Elemental Bursts of the character wielding this weapon hit opponents, that character gains a Sigil of Remembrance.

This effect can be triggered once every 0.2s and can be triggered even if said character is not on the field. When you possess 4 Sigils of Remembrance, all of them will be consumed and all nearby party members will obtain the “Millennial Movement: Farewell Song” effect for 12s. “Millennial Movement: Farewell Song” increases Elemental Mastery by 100 and increases ATK by 20%. Once this effect is triggered, you will not gain Sigils of Remembrance for 20s. Of the many effects of the “Millennial Movement,” buffs of the same type will not stack.

Best Genshin Impact Gorou Artifacts

Since Gorou benefits from both DEF and Energy Recharge, the best combination for him would be a 2 piece Husk of Opulent Dreams and 2 piece Emblem of Severed Fate.

For substats, go for Energy Recharge sands, DEF%/Geo Damage Goblet, and a DEF Circlet.

Husk of Opulent Dreams

Husk of Opulent Dreams

  • 2-piece effect: DEF +30%
  • 4-piece effect: A character equipped with this Artifact set will obtain the Curiosity effect in the following conditions: When on the field, the character gains 1 stack after hitting an opponent with a Geo attack, triggering a maximum of once every 0.3s. When off the field, the character gains 1 stack every 3s. Curiosity can stack up to 4 times, each providing 6% DEF and a 6% Geo DMG Bonus. When 6 seconds pass without gaining a Curiosity stack, 1 stack is lost.
Emblem of Severed Fate

Emblem of Severed Fate

  • 2-piece effect: Energy Recharge +20%
  • 4-piece effect: Increases Elemental Burst DMG by 25% of Energy Recharge. A maximum of 75% bonus DMG can be obtained in this way.

FAQs about Genshin Impact Gorou

Gorou will be the 5-star character in the banner. Characters with him should be able to support his skills.

The age of Gorou is not obviously stated in the game. His birthday is on May 18th

Gorou (Japanese: ゴロー Goroo) is a playable Geo male character in Genshin Impact. He is the courageous and reliable general of the Watatsumi Army, a leader whose men can always place their trust in.

If you have Xinyan, she’s another great four-star character you can use on a Gorou team. Thanks to Gorou’s buffs, combined with Geo Elemental Resonance, Xinyan’s shield capabilities will be stronger.

Xinyan can also create Crystallize shards because she’s a Pyro character.

After both Sucrose and Diona, Gorou is the next anticipated “animal” character in Genshin Impact. Specifically, Gorou has the adorable features of a Shiba Inu, dog ears, tail, and all.

Gorou, like all of Watatsumi Island’s inhabitants, is a loyal supporter of Sangonomiya Kokomi. Kokomi trusts him to lead the Watatsumi Army as its primary general, being sincere, determined, and courageous.

Gorou scales off of DEF, so this artifact set is an obvious choice since it provides a whopping 54% DEF and 24% Geo DMG Bonus at peak performance. When Gorou’s Elemental Burst is not active, he only gets the 2-piece passive, which is still great at 30% DEF.

Ningguang may not be the best pair with just Gorou, but she’s an amazing addition to Arataki Itto’s party. Not only will she provide Elemental Particles for Itto, but she will also be a Battery for Gorou.

Gorou is a Geo Support in Genshin Impact at the moment. Gorou Support Build is mostly used. His Elemental Skill can Hugely buff the team Geo damage.

Gorou is a perfectly tailored support character for Itto and Albedo: the two DPS characters rely heavily on their Defense value to unleash their full offensive potential.

Gorou can use his elemental ability to raise a war banner that not only deals Geo area damage but also gives buffs to all party members.

It makes him fantastic at supporting Genshin Impact’s Itto to ensure it deals the maximum damage possible.

His skills also work well with a good Albedo build since Albedo’s abilities synergize with Gorou’s nicely.

If you wish to increase Gorou’s sub-DPS potential, go for the full four-piece Husk of Opulent Dreams instead.

As his Burst damage and the Crystal Collapse effect scales with Defense (and Curiosity can be gained passively), this makes Gorou a surprisingly strong damage dealer.

On the General’s fourth Constellation, when his Burst is active, Gorou will heal by 50% of his defense every 1.5 seconds. If Gorou is equipped with the normal build, this effect is really negligible.

Sadly, even if players focused on DEF% and Healing Bonus%, his healing is still too low to be effectively utilized.

Like most Geo characters, Gorou’s build is focused on defense. Its passive Rendered Favor increases the damage of its elemental attack and its rampage according to its DEF.

To play him well, do not neglect his energy recharge. Ideally, it should be at least 180%.

The best weapon for a Gorou support build is the Favonius Warbow. It’s fully focused on recharging Burst Energy, allowing you to activate the General’s Glory effects continuously.

Ningguang may not be the best pair with just Gorou, but she’s an amazing addition to Arataki Itto’s party. Not only will she provide Elemental Particles for Itto, but she will also be a Battery for Gorou.

The best team composition for Gorou includes Arataki Itto, Albedo, and Xinyan.

The Chalk Prince Albedo is a limited five-star character, a Geo sword user with unique capabilities who would be right at home with Gorou on a team.

Albedo’s Elemental Skill creates flowers that deal Geo damage to enemies you attack within its Area of Effect. When used in conjunction with Gorou’s Elemental Skill and a total of three Geo party members, this damage can be buffed further, setting up explosive amounts of damage constantly. Plus, Albedo can help generate Energy Particles so that Gorou’s Elemental Burst can be used more frequently.

The newest Geo character in the game, alongside Gorou himself, is the five-star, claymore wielding Arataki Itto. He’s a unique and stylish character with a fun personality and powerful capabilities that perfectly complement Gorou. Plus, since he has a claymore, that means he’ll also be handy outside of combat if you’re planning on mining some ore while out on the field.

If you have Itto, you can use him as a solid DPS. His Elemental Skill is a taunt with his bull, Ushi, that can help you with crowd control, but also, the more damage that gets dealt to Ushi, the more of a strength buff he gets, letting him unleash a devastating charged attack. Then you can unleash Itto’s Elemental Burst attack. Throughout all this, Gorou’s buffs make Itto a stronger and better DPS who keeps the heat on your enemies.

It’s a good idea to consider how you’re building here and to look into equipping her with the Sacrificial Greatsword so that she can use her Elemental Skill and possibly end the skill cooldown immediately.
