Nights of Formal Focus

Elemental Skill

Puts forth a shield known as the Curtain of Slumber, dealing AoE Cryo DMG.
The Curtain of Slumber’s DMG Absorption is based on Layla’s Max HP and absorbs Cryo DMG with 250% effectiveness. When the shield is deployed, Layla will have Cryo applied to her briefly.

Night Stars and Shooting Stars
While the Curtain of Slumber is active, it will create 1 Night Star that will be attached to it every 1.5s. When a character protected by this shield uses an Elemental Skill, 2 Night Stars will be created. Night Stars can be created once every 0.3s in this way. A maximum of 4 Night Stars can be accumulated at any one time.
Once the Curtain of Slumber has accumulated 4 Night Stars and there are opponents nearby, these Night Stars will transform into homing Shooting Stars that will be fired off in sequence, dealing Cryo DMG to any opponents hit.
If the Curtain of Slumber’s duration ends or it is destroyed, the Night Stars will disappear. If they are already being fired off as Shooting Stars, these Shooting Stars will last until this wave of shots ends.

New Night Stars cannot be created until the previous wave of Shooting Stars has been fired completely.

Dream of the Star-Stream Shaker

Dream of the Star-Stream Shaker

Elemental Burst

Unleashes a Celestial Dreamsphere that constantly fires Starlight Slugs at opponents within its AoE, dealing Cryo DMG.

When a Starlight Slug hits, it will generate 1 Night Star for nearby Curtains of Slumber. Each Curtain of Slumber can gain 1 Night Star this way every 0.5s.

Genshin Impact Layla Team Combo

Layla is a support character, so she can fit almost any team composition that benefits from a shielding support and a cryo enabler. That being said, she can also be played purely as an enabler.

She’s the kind of character that can do most of the things you want her to, except main DPSing unless, of course, you create a team that centers around only just that.

Just like what’s said above, Layla is super flexible with a lot of characters that can benefit from her Cryo applications such as Klee and Yoimiya for their melt reactions. She can also be a really effective partner for basically any DPS that needs Cryo in their lives for their elemental reactions.

Genshin Impact Layla

Layla works well in Freeze comps and Physical teams.

Kokomi, along with Yelan,  produces Hydro resonance furthering the strength of the shields and damage of Layla.

Yelan, teaming with Kokomi,  produces Hydro resonance furthering the strength of the shields and damage of Layla.

Ayaka will be the main damage dealer.

Genshin Impact Layla Weapon

The best weapon for Layla should be either The Key of Khaj-Nisut, which increases her HP and Elemental Mastery, or Primordial Jade-Cutter, which increases HP and ATK%.

There are a few other swords good for Layla as well.

For example, the 3-star Harbinger of Dawn, which can perform as above 5-star options in damage output if you can keep Layla’s HP above 90%.

Using an Elemental Burst grants a 12~24% increase in ATK and Movement SPD for 15s.

Genshin Impact Layla Artifact Sets

Tenacity of the Millelith and Noblesse Oblige would be the two best artifact sets for Layla.

Tenacity of the Millelith does everything Layla wants in an artifact. It increases shield strength and increases the ATK of all party members, and Noblesse Oblige does a decent Tenacity impression.

Both 4pc sets offer similar buffs, though Tenacity’s can be kept going indefinitely, making it better the longer a fight goes on. Blizzard Strayer trails far behind and at this point, it feels just like it’s an honorable mention.

Tenacity of the Millelith

Tenacity of the Millelith

  •  2-piece effect: Increases HP by 20%.
  • 4-piece effect: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field.
