Genshin Impact Zhongli is a 5-star character that debuted in his own character banner “Gentry of Hermitage.”
His banner has had two reruns since its debut in December 2020, running again from April 28, 2021 – May 18, 2021 and January 25, 2022 – February 15, 2022.

Zhongli’s latest rerun banner, Gentry of Hermitage, ended in February 15, 2022. As of now, there is no way to get Zhongli from any of the Standard Banners.

– Childe can serve as a sub-DPS and has a passive that will boost Zhongli’s normal Attacks.
Genshin Impact Zhongli Builds
Zhongli won’t take much of your in-field time. Mostly what he’d do when he’s out is to use both his elemental skill and elemental burst, and then switch to another character. However, this doesn’t mean that shielding is his only job. He can still deal a lot of damage especially if you level up that elemental burst.
Best Weapons for Zhongli in Genshin Impact
Any of these weapons will work on Zhongli with Staff of Homa being your go-to F2P option due to the HP% sub stat increase. Primordial Jade-Winged Spear is also a solid pick for F2P players.
If you have other 5-star polearms that aren’t listed down here, it will also work. Except for Skyward Spine.
Staff of Homa
HP increased by 20%. Additionally, provides an ATK Bonus based on 0.8% of the wielder’s Max HP. When the wielder’s HP is less than 50%, this ATK bonus is increased by an additional 1% of Max HP.
Primordial Jade-Winged Spear
On hit, increases ATK by 3.2% for 6s. Max 7 stacks. This effect can only occur once every 0.3s. While in possession of the maximum possible stacks, DMG dealt is increased by 12%.
Black Tassel
Increases DMG against slimes by 40%.
Blackcliff Pole
When refined to max, after defeating an opponent, ATK is increased by 24% for 30s. This effect has a maximum of 3 stacks, and the duration of each stack is independent of the others.
Best Artifacts for Zhongli in Genshin Impact
Zhongli’s artifacts can vary a little bit depending on what you want to achieve with him. If you purely want him as a supporting character, 4-piece Tenacity of the Millelith is on the table. Noblesse Oblige 4-piece is also in contention if no one is using it at the party.
Archaic Petra is used in combination with Noblesse Oblige 2-piece each to achieve a much more offensive build of Zhongli.
Main stats to look out for as support Zhongli is Full HP on Sands, Goblet, and Circlet. If you’re keen on a much more offensive one, you should look for ATK Sands, Geo DMG% Goblet, Crit Rate/Crit Damage Circlet depending on your Crit Rate.
Tenacity of the Millelith
- 2-piece effect: HP +20%
- 4-piece effect: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field.

This build leverages Zhongli’s powerful Elemental Burst power by generating a constant stream of energy and particles. The Geo hero will not only be able to provide support energy for the rest of the team but will be able to use his Planet Befall attack to constantly slam his meteor into enemies.
The Exile
- 2-piece effect: HP +20%
- 4-piece effect: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their Shield Strength is increased by 30% for 3s. Rather than having a full set, opt for a build of 2-piece The Exile and 2-piece Archaic Petra. This gives an Energy Recharge +20% bonus, and also makes Zhongli gain a 15% Geo DMG bonus. He works best with Artifacts that have ATK, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG substats.

When it comes to spending mora, Zhongli doesn’t understand bartering because he has never had a need to save money or try to strike a better deal. Giving up his gnosis put Zhongli in an instant state of being broke, and he is still yet to fully understand it.
