Hydro is one of the seven Genshin Impact Elements. It comes with Water vision.
The associated Archon of this element is the God of Justice, whose domain is Fontaine.
If there are two Hydro characters in the same team, the Elemental Resonance of two-Hydr elements appears.
Soothing Water: Affected by Pyro for 40% less time. Increases incoming healing by 30%.
Hydro has the following Elemental Reactions with the other five elements, including Cryo, Pyro, Electro, Anemo, and Geo.
Freezes the target. If the frozen target is hit by a Claymore, a Plunge Attack, or Geo DMG, it will cause Shattered. Shattering a frozen target will deal additional Physical DMG.
Deals Electro DMG over time and interrupts any action. If there are nearby Wet targets, they also get the Electro-Charged elemental reaction.
Deals ×2 Hydro DMG when a Hydro attack triggers the reaction.
Deals Non-AoE Hydro DMG while spreading the Wet status to nearby enemies.
Creates a Hydro crystal that when collected turns into a Hydro shield.
Hydro has different status, characters, and enemies.
Wet itself does not have any special effects; it is simply considered the application of Hydro. However, being affected by Wet allows Hydro Elemental Reactions to occur.
Any source of Hydro DMG will apply Wet. It will also be applied during rain and upon coming in contact with bodies of water.
The following Talents apply the Wet status to its user and/or the active character.
Xingqiu performs twin strikes with his sword, dealing Hydro DMG. At the same time, this ability creates the maximum number of Rain Swords, which will orbit your active character.
The Rain Swords have the following properties:
20% of Xingqiu’s Hydro DMG Bonus will be converted to additional DMG Reduction for the Rain Swords.
The maximum amount of additional DMG Reduction that can be gained this way is 24%.
The initial maximum number of Rain Swords is 3.
Using this ability applies for the Wet status to the character.
Initiate Rainbow Bladework and fight using an illusory sword rain, while creating the maximum number of Rain Swords.
Rainbow Bladework
Your active character’s Normal Attacks will trigger consecutive sword rain attacks, dealing Hydro DMG.
Rain Swords will remain at the maximum number throughout the ability’s duration.
Summons a “Bake-Kurage” created from water that can heal her allies.
Using this skill will apply the Wet status to Sangonomiya Kokomi.
Bake-Kurage
Deals Hydro DMG to surrounding opponents and heals nearby active characters at fixed intervals. This healing is based on Kokomi’s Max HP.
Summons water droplets resembling musical notes that form a Melody Loop, dealing Hydro DMG to surrounding opponents and applying the Wet status to them.
Melody Loop
On a hit, Barbara’s Normal Attacks heal your own party members and nearby teammates for a certain amount of HP, which scales with Barbara’s Max HP.
On a hit, Barbara’s Charged Attack generates 4 times the amount of healing.
Periodically regenerates your own active character’s HP.
Applies the Wet status to the character and to opponents who come in contact with them.
Right now, there are 5 playable Genshin Impact characters that have the Hydro element and vision. This element can not be obtained by Traveller but only selected characters can have this element.
In Genshin Impact, some Enemies are capable of generating an Electro shield or constructs, providing them with significant offensive or defensive abilities.
Hydro characters in Genshin Impact are known for their ability to douse their foes with water-based blasts.
These attacks make applying Freeze, Vaporize, and Electro-Charged incredibly easy.
Not only are these Elemental Reactions powerful, but they also can be extremely useful when dealing with the game’s tougher foes.
Vaporize
Pyro + Hydro is an excellent elemental reaction that deals huge damage. The main idea here is to have an enabler in your team, someone who can constantly apply Pyro, and your main Hydro DPS that will activate the elemental reaction, dealing fantastic damage.
Tartaglia is a valuable addition to any party, provided that players are lucky enough to get their hands on him, as he is by far the rarest and most powerful Hydro character in the game. His normal attacks are ranged bow shots and he can whip up as many as six consecutive strikes.
The Hydro element in Genshin Impact is one of the most useful elements in the game, with the opportunity to trigger some powerful elemental reactions.
The Vaporize reaction deals some of the highest damage in the game, while the Freeze reaction makes fighting enemies much safer.
Melt – S-Tier
Melt works just the same as Vaporize but is the combination of Pyro and Cryo. This time, pyro should be the one triggering the reaction — your second attack — hitting cryo for a 2 times multiplier.
Cryo on pyro likewise rewards a 1.5 times multiplier. It helps to remember Pokemon elemental relationships.
A Pyro or Electro DPS is Also Viable
That’s alright. Because Hydro Hypostasis is the most vulnerable Hypostases in Genshin Impact.
It’s also susceptible to reactions caused by combining Hydro with Pyro or Electro. That very well means a Pyro or Electro DPS carry will also work well against the Hydro Hypostasis.
Astrologist Mona Megistus is a playable Hydro character in Genshin Impact.
