Jean is a 5-star character only available in the permanent banner. She also appears in the character banner if you lost the 50/50 pity. This means that it might be a little hard to get her.
You can get Jean at a normal rate on both the Wanderlust Invocation banner and the current Character Event Wish. She is one of the five permanently available 5-star characters in the Standard Banner.

Normal Attack
Performs up to 5 consecutive strikes.
Charged Attack
Consumes a certain amount of stamina to launch an opponent using the power of wind.
Launched opponents will slowly fall to the ground.
Plunging Attack
Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
Focusing the might of the formless wind around her blade, Jean releases a miniature storm, launching opponents in the direction she aims at, dealing massive Anemo DMG.
Hold
At the cost of continued stamina consumption, Jean can command the whirlwind to pull surrounding opponents and objects towards her front.
Direction can be adjusted.
Character is immobile during skill duration.
Calling upon the wind’s protection, Jean creates a swirling Dandelion Field, launching surrounding opponents and dealing Anemo DMG.
At the same time, she instantly regenerates a large amount of HP for all party members. The amount of HP restored scales off Jean’s ATK.
Dandelion FieldContinuously regenerates HP of characters within the AoE and continuously imbues them with Anemo.
Deals Anemo DMG to opponents entering or exiting the Dandelion Field.
Hits by Jean’s Normal Attacks have a 50% chance to regenerate HP equal to 15% of Jean’s ATK for all party members.
Using Dandelion Breeze will regenerate 20% of its Energy.
When a Perfect Cooking is achieved on a dish with restorative effects, Jean has a 12% chance to obtain double the product.
Increases the pulling speed of Gale Blade after holding for more than 1s, and increases the DMG dealt by 40%.
When Jean picks up an Elemental Orb/Particle, all party members have their Movement SPD and ATK SPD increased by 15% for 15s.
Increases the Level of Dandelion Breeze by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Within the Field created by Dandelion Breeze, all opponents have their Anemo RES decreased by 40%.
Increases the Level of Gale Blade by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Incoming DMG is decreased by 35% within the Field created by Dandelion Breeze. Upon leaving the Dandelion Field, this effect lasts for 3 attacks or 10s.
Jean gets the best of both worlds by having her support buffs scale from raw power.
By stacking ATK, Jean can deal respectable damage while patching up the wounds incurred across the rest of your team, allowing for very little downtime in your overall damage output when the need to patch yourself up inevitably arises.
Jean also would want an energy recharge of 160% if she’s the only solo Anemo character in your team, and 140% if there’s another one.
Jean wants nothing more than ATK, making her weapon choices simple. Here are some of them:
HP increased by 20%. Additionally, provides an ATK Bonus based on 1.2% of the wielder’s Max HP.
After casting an Elemental Skill, gain 1 Succession Seed. This effect can be triggered once every 5s. The Succession Seed lasts for 30s. Up to 3 Succession Seeds may exist simultaneously. After using an Elemental Burst, all Succession Seeds are consumed and after 2s, the character regenerates 6 Energy for each seed consumed.
Increases Elemental Skill DMG by 16% and Elemental Skill CRIT Rate by 6%.
Jean has three different artifacts that she can opt to use. Them being Viridescent Venerer, Noblesse Oblige, and Gladiator’s Finale. You’d want to use 2 piece Viridescent Venerer and 2 piece Gladiator’s Finale as a generalist set. If there’s no one using Noblesse Oblige or Viridescent Venerer in your team, that’s the only time you can go for 4 pieces of either of the two.
Yes. Jean Gunnhildr is a playable Anemo character in Genshin Impact. The daughter of Frederica Gunnhildr and Seamus Pegg, the older sister of Barbara, and a descendant of the prestigious Gunnhildr Clan, Jean is the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius.
Approximately 20 years old. Her age of Jean is not obviously stated in the game. Her birthday is on March 14th.
Some people in the Genshin Impact fandom haven’t yet known that Jean and Barbara are sisters.
Although Jean and Barbara may have different last names, it is still confirmed that they are sisters from their character stories profile.
Jean is another 5-star character that’s introduced early on in Genshin Impact’s story that is actually a high-tier playable character – though we don’t rate Jean quite as high as Diluc, sliding her in one tier lower.
The rate of any given wish on a permanent banner wish being a Jean is roughly 0.1% while on the event banner is roughly 0.05% until you get a non-advertised 5 star and 0% once you do until you get the advertised 5 stars.
As such, if you’re goal is to get Jean, you would want to stick with the permanent banner instead.
Weapons like The Flute that boosts Attack are the only real good option for Jean as an Anemo Sub DPS.
You can also find equally good alternatives in the form of the Aquila Favonia, Favonius Sword, and Skyward Blade.
Jean is still one of the rarest characters in Genshin Impact. For anyone lucky enough to obtain her through the game’s Wish system, she’s great as both a healer and damage-dealer. With this character builds, Jean will excel in her roles and become amazingly powerful.
Jean performs slightly better as a DPS character rather than support, but she is fairly proficient in both areas.
We recommend pairing her up with Venti for slower stamina depletion.
Along with Diona, she’s one of the best hybrid healers in the game. There’s one critical thing to know about Jean.
Her healing — from both her Dandelion Breeze burst and her Wind Companion passive — scales with her attack. This allows you to build damage while also increasing your effectiveness as a healer.
Qiqi is better for just healing, Jean is good too but she isn’t like super good, she’s like good at everything but doesn’t excel at anything. Qiqi just heals really well, but that’s about it.
However, if you’re up for the daunting task of repeatedly wishing for Jean, we’d recommend wishing for Constellation 4, which is able to decrease opponents’ Anemo RES within the field of Dandelion Breeze by an impressive 40%.
The best team composition for Jean includes Xiao, Bennett, and Xingqiu.
Admittedly, Xingqiu is more suitable for a swirl damage team composition than most other characters. Offering Rain Blades that can transfer users, it is much easier to have Hydro, Pyro, and swirl involved if Xingqiu is around. Otherwise, the player would need to switch constantly between three characters, which can be a hassle.
For players used to Anemo Travelers’ skill, they will understand Jean’s extreme potential to take care of crowd control. However, upgrading for a support role is different than optimizing swirl damage. Players should focus on her elemental skill primarily, with the burst and normal attack mattering very little. Artifact-wise, most stats work well for a supporting character.
It goes without saying that one of the best Pyro applicators in the game would make for an ideal DPS when Jean focuses on Swirl reactions.
Even to the day, players will find that Diluc is among the top in DPS, and his Pyro attacks make for a devastating assault from Jean’s skill.
While there are multiple different roles for Jean, the best Genshin Impact team composition for Jean will draw from her swirl damage and healing excellence.
Xiao and Xingqiu are a DPS pair that has the highest potential for swirl and vaporized damage, as well as being the easiest to use.
On the other hand, Bennett single-handedly holds the support role, boosting damage and offering minor healing during Jean’s recharge phase.
