Diluc is a five-star pyro character in Genshin Impact who plays a crucial role in the main story. From the outside looking in, Diluc appears to be a mysterious yet charming man who is focused on his business.

Approximately 22 years old. The age of Diluc is not obviously stated in the game. His birthday is on April 30th. 

Unfortunately for players, Diluc cannot be unlocked by progressing through the main story, nor in the open world. The only way to unlock him as a playable character in Genshin Impact is to make Wishes using Intertwined Fates or Acquaint Fates.

To that end, Hu Tao is notably more “talented” than Diluc. She has no wasted talents at all. Meanwhile, Diluc’s first passive talent does not help him much. Moreover, Hu Tao’s Elemental Burst and Elemental Skill work so much better together compared to Diluc’s straightforward and unimaginative fire attacks.

In terms of attack speed, Xiao surpasses Diluc, as Claymore wielding characters have a slower attacking speed compared to other weapon carriers. Polearm users can dish out multiple hits per second, whereas claymore users are usually slower because of the heavy weapon mechanism.

To maximize Diluc’s DPS performance, try to space out Searing Onslaught in between each Normal Attack. This creates a constant loop of damage rather than creating gaps after Diluc’s standard normal attack animations. By optimizing how you attack enemies, you can deal more damage in a shorter period of time.

Diluc is a DPS fighter, with a huge focus on the D. Most of his upgrades increase his damage output. Also, as he upgrades, he is able to tie his Pyro elemental damage to his Normal attacks. This means he is constantly able to set up Pyro chains and cause increased elemental damage as he gets stronger.

Diluc is still a great damage dealer in Genshin Impact. The main reason that Diluc will always be a reliable character is that he belongs to the Pyro element. Furthermore, Pyro is the best element in the game currently as it triggers Melt and Vaporize elemental reactions which have the highest damage scaling.

Although Diluc is extremely powerful without any constellations at all, powering them up to level six will make him an unstoppable powerhouse.

The best team composition for Diluc includes Xinqiu, Bennett, and Zhongli.

The most effective Hydro applicator for Diluc would be Xingqiu. Xingqiu’s Elemental Burst is similar to Kaeya’s but applies Hydro instead of Cryo. It also has a lower cooldown, making it more available for Diluc compared to Kaeya’s Burst. As an added bonus, Xinqiu is also one of the best sub-DPS characters in the game and can even take point if Diluc goes down due to mistakes.

Bennett is just a special character that goes well with Diluc like bread and butter. He gives Diluc a juicy Pyro resonance, which means he provides a 25% attack boost just by being present in the party. More than anything though, it’s Bennett’s Elemental Burst that allows Diluc his maximum potential. It’s a damage boost field that also doubles as a healing spot. Even Jean can’t beat that role.

Zhongli works well with Diluc compositions thanks to his Jade Shield that lowers elemental resistance. It’s a straight-up damage boost as well and he doesn’t even need the best artifacts for it. He’s optional though and would probably only work well if Jean is in the party and Bennett is absent, freeing up the fourth slot for Zhongli.
