Genshin Impact Tartaglia Talents (Skills)

Cutting Torrent

Cutting Torrent

Normal Attack

Normal Attack

Perform up to 6 consecutive shots with a bow.

Charged Attack

Perform a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG.

While aiming, the power of Hydro will accumulate on the arrowhead. A [sic] arrow fully charged with the torrent will deal Hydro DMG and apply the Riptide status.

Riptide

Opponents affected by Riptide will suffer from AoE Hydro DMG effects when attacked by Tartaglia in various ways. DMG dealt in this way is considered Normal Attack DMG.

Riptide Flash: A fully-charged Aimed Shot that hits an opponent affected by Riptide deals consecutive bouts of AoE DMG. Can occur once every 0.7s.

Riptide Burst: Defeating an opponent affected by Riptide creates a Hydro burst that inflicts the Riptide status on nearby opponents hit.

Plunging Attack

Fires off a shower of arrows in mid-air before falling and striking the ground, dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

When Tartaglia is in Foul Legacy: Raging Tide’s Melee Stance, he cannot perform a plunging attack.

Foul Legacy: Raging Tide

Foul Legacy: Raging Tide

Elemental Skill

Unleashes a set of weaponry made of pure water, dealing Hydro DMG to surrounding opponents and entering Melee Stance.

In this Stance, Tartaglia’s Normal and Charged Attacks are converted to Hydro DMG that cannot be overridden by any other elemental infusion and change as follows:

Normal Attack

Perform up to 6 consecutive Hydro strikes.

Charged Attack

Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash a cross slash, dealing Hydro DMG.

Riptide Slash

Hitting an opponent affected by Riptide with a melee attack unleashes a Riptide Slash that deals AoE Hydro DMG. DMG dealt in this way is considered Elemental Skill DMG, and can only occur once every 1.5s.

After 30s, or when the ability is unleashed again, this skill will end. Tartaglia will return to his Ranged Stance and this ability will enter CD.

The longer Tartaglia stays in his Melee Stance, the longer the CD.

If the return to a ranged stance occurs automatically after 30s, the CD is even longer.class=””article-table””

Havoc: Obliteration

Havoc: Obliteration

Elemental Burst

Performs different attacks based on what stance Tartaglia is in when casting.

Ranged Stance: Flash of Havoc

Swiftly fires a Hydro-imbued magic arrow, dealing AoE Hydro DMG and applying for the Riptide status.

Returns a portion of its Energy Cost after use.

Melee Stance: Light of Obliteration

Performs a slash with a large AoE, dealing massive Hydro DMG to all surrounding opponents, which triggers Riptide Blast.

Riptide Blast

When the obliterating waters hit an opponent affected by Riptide, it clears their Riptide status and triggers a Hydro Explosion that deals AoE Hydro DMG.

DMG dealt in this way is considered Elemental Burst DMG.

Childe Tartaglia Best Team Combo

Tartaglia (Childe)

Fischl

Beidou

Bennett

– Fischl will act as a battery for Beidou enabling Beidou to keep her Ult constantly in-game.

– Beidou will act as a sub-DPS dealing damage to enemies while Childe is on cooldown.

– Bennett boosts the whole team and will also provide healing and cleansing.

– Childe will make use of Fischl and Beidou’s skills to powerup his own dealing constant Electro Charge to multiple enemies.

Best Genshin Impact Tartaglia Builds

Tartaglia can be built as either a sub DPS or a main DPS depending on what you need in your team. As a main DPS, one of the things you need to master is the cooldown of his elemental skill. If you want to get down to specifics, a Redditor made a table laying out all the possible cooldowns.

As a sub DPS, you’ll still play him as you’d normally do. However, this time his elemental burst takes higher priority. The chart above can be ignored as you wouldn’t have Tartaglia in the field for long anyway. The common strategy is to apply riptide with his elemental skill, use his elemental burst (melee), and switch back to the main DPS.

Best Weapons for Childe Tartaglia in Genshin Impact

Tartaglia benefits from bows with the ATK sub stat and here are some of the best bows for that.

Skyward Harp is by far the best bow for Tartaglia, followed by Rust.

Amos’s bow is also up there. We’d recommend Favonius Warbow for sub DPS Tartaglia build.

Elegy for the End is an interesting bow to use with Tartaglia because this puts him in a very supportive role.

Same with The Stringless — it’s an ultra-budget bow but will do if you don’t have Skyward Harp, Rust, or Amos’s Bow.

Skyward Harp

Skyward Harp

Increases CRIT DMG by 20~40%. Hits have a 60~100% chance to inflict a small AoE attack, dealing 125% Physical ATK DMG. Can only occur once every 4~2s.

Rust

Rust

Increases Normal Attack DMG by 40~80% but decreases Charged Attack DMG by 10%.

Amos’s Bow

Amos’s Bow

Increases Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 12~24%. After a Normal or Charged Attack is fired, DMG dealt increases by a further 8~16% every 0.1 seconds up to 5 times.

Favonius Warbow

Favonius Warbow

Windfall CRIT hits have a 60~100% chance to generate 1 Elemental Orb, which will regenerate 6 Energy for the character. Can only occur once every 12~6s.

Elegy for the End

Elegy for the End

A part of the “Millennial Movement” that wanders amidst the winds. Increases Elemental Mastery by 60~120. When the Elemental Skills or Elemental Bursts of the character wielding this weapon hit opponents, that character gains a Sigil of Remembrance. This effect can be triggered once every 0.2s and can be triggered even if said character is not on the field. When you possess 4 Sigils of Remembrance, all of them will be consumed and all nearby party members will obtain the “Millennial Movement: Farewell Song” effect for 12s. “Millennial Movement: Farewell Song” increases Elemental Mastery by 100~200 and increases ATK by 20~40%.Once this effect is triggered, you will not gain Sigils of Remembrance for 20s. Of the many effects of the “Millennial Movement,” buffs of the same type will not stack.

The Stringless

The Stringless

Increases Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst DMG by 24~48%.

Best Artifacts for Childe Tartaglia in Genshin Impact

For artifacts, there are only two that we’d recommend for Tartaglia.

Heart of Depth is the artifact to go for if you’re using Childe as the main DPS character. If you’re going for a sub-DPS build, I suggest 2 pieces of Heart of Depth and 2 pieces of Noblesse Oblige for that sweet, sweet burst damage.

These are the main stats to look out for:

ATK% Sands
Hydro DMG% Goblet
Crit Rate/Crit DMG Circlet (depending on your crit rate and crit dmg ratio)

Noblesse Oblige

Noblesse Oblige

  • 2-piece effect: Elemental Burst DMG +20%
  • 4-piece effect: Using an Elemental Burst increase all party members’ ATK by 20% for 12s. This effect cannot stack.
Heart of Depth

Heart of Depth

  • 2-piece effect: Hydro DMG Bonus +15%
  • 4-piece effect: After using Elemental Skill, increases Normal Attack and Charged Attack DMG by 30% for 15s.

FAQs about Genshin Impact Tartaglia (Childe)

The most confusing thing about this young man is his name. Mostly known as Childe in the English release, the name the character is meant to go by is Tartaglia.

Childe is actually the Chinese word for a young nobleman, but due to translation errors, it seems like it’s his actual name.

Approximately 19-21 years old. The age of Tartaglia is not obviously stated in the game.

Tartaglia’s birthday is on January 9th.

In a fantasy world of magic, monsters, and gods, Childe is still incredibly powerful according to the game’s lore.

Tartaglia is one of the strongest characters within the story of Genshin Impact. As part of the Eleven Harbingers of the Fatui organization, his name is feared by many around the world of Teyvat.

The best team composition for Tartaglia includes Fischl, Beidou, and Bennett.

Fischl’s Elemental Skill has a fast cooldown, refreshing in about a second, meaning you can repeatedly use it with Childe’s attacks to create Electro-charged reactions with mobs of enemies.

Beidou’s Elemental Burst in particular complements Childe very well. After using Childe’s Elemental burst to spread Hydro through his melee capabilities, you can switch over to Beidou.

Bennett is a great, well-rounded four-star character. He’s a solid Sub-DPS, and his Elemental Skill has a short cooldown time, meaning you can use it to apply Pyro continuously. Using this with Childe’s Elemental Skill means you can make quick work of triggering Overloaded reactions.

Yes, Tartaglia (Childe) is a great Main or Sub-DPS!

Tartaglia (Childe) is a great all-around character, whether used as a Main DPS or a Sub-DPS. He can deal a lot AoE Hydro Damage and buff the Normal and Charged attacks of other characters in the party with his passive.

Childe Tartaglia suffers from not being quite as spectacular as his other five-star cohorts out of the gate.

With characters like Venti and Xiao available, both of who are essentially able to solo any combat encounter, it’s difficult to say Childe is worth it. He’s good, sure, but not good enough to sacrifice 180 wishes.

Ajax better known as his Harbinger name “Tartaglia” or “Childe”, is a major antagonist turned anti-villain in Genshin Impact and a playable five-star character starting from the 1.1 Patch as a Hydro-type bow-class character.

Teucer is Tartaglia’s little brother, and some of his confidant spirit can be seen in Childe’s story chapter. Teucer stows himself away on a ship to Liyue and then begins wandering the wilderness looking for his brother.
