Normal Attack
Performs up to 6 consecutive spear strikes.
Charged Attack
Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to perform an upward thrust.
Plunging Attack
Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
Xiao does not take DMG from performing Plunging Attacks.
Xiao lunges forward, dealing Anemo DMG to opponents in his path.
Can be used in mid-air.
Starts with 2 charges.
Xiao dons the Yaksha Mask that set gods and demons trembling millennia ago.
Yaksha’s Mask
Greatly increases Xiao’s jumping ability.
Increases his attack AoE and attack DMG.
Converts attack DMG into Anemo DMG, which cannot be overridden by any other elemental infusion.
In this state, Xiao will continuously lose HP.
The effects of this skill end when Xiao leaves the field.
While under the effects of Bane of All Evil, all DMG dealt by Xiao increases by 5%. DMG increases by a further 5% for every 3s the ability persists. The maximum DMG Bonus is 25%.
Using Lemniscatic Wind Cycling increases the DMG of subsequent uses of Lemniscatic Wind Cycling by 15%. This effect lasts for 7s, and has a maximum of 3 stacks. Gaining a new stack refreshes the effect’s duration.
Decreases climbing Stamina consumption for your own party members by 20%.
Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.
Increases Lemniscatic Wind Cycling’s charges by 1.
When in the party and not on the field, Xiao’s Energy Recharge is increased by 25%.
Increases the Level of Lemniscatic Wind Cycling by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
When Xiao’s HP falls below 50%, he gains a 100% DEF Bonus.
Increases the Level of Bane of All Evil by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
While under the effects of Bane of All Evil, hitting at least 2 opponents with Xiao’s Plunging Attack will immediately grant him 1 charge of Lemniscatic Wind Cycling, and for the next 1s, he may use Lemniscatic Wind Cycling while ignoring its CD.
・Xiao’s attacks will be boosted by Bennett while providing heal.
・Sucrose can provide much needed Anemo Energy to keep up Xiao’s ULT.
・Zhongli prevents significant damage with his shield while providing a moving debuff. He can also CC the enemies that Sucrose could not control.
Xiao is one of the heaviest damage dealers in the game. However, he will need an anemo battery to feed him energy particles for his elemental burst. Suggested
Xiao’s best 4-star weapon is the Deathmatch which can be obtained from the Battle Pass. If you don’t have any of these, you can opt for a Favonius Lance as a filler until you get a much better weapon.
On hit, increases ATK by 3.2% for 6s. Max 7 stacks. This effect can only occur once every 0.3s. While in possession of the maximum possible stacks, DMG dealt is increased by 12%.
HP increased by 20%. Additionally, provides an ATK Bonus based on 0.8% of the wielder’s Max HP. When the wielder’s HP is less than 50%, this ATK bonus is increased by an additional 1% of Max HP.
If there are at least 2 opponents nearby, ATK is increased by 16% and DEF is increased by 16%. If there are fewer than 2 opponents nearby, ATK is increased by 24%.
Xiao’s best artifacts are a combination of Viridescent Venerer and any of the other two artifacts. So 2-piece Viridescent and 2-piece either of the latter.
Main stats to lookout for are ATK Sands, ATK/Anemo DMG% Goblet, Crit Rate/Crit Damage Circlet depending on your Crit rate.
Xiao is a 5-star Anemo Polearm character, adept at dealing huge amounts of AoE damage from Plunging Attacks. He is widely regarded as a great and balanced character, who excels in AoE but somehow falters in the single target department.
Xiao may appear like a teenager or young adult, but he’s actually over 2,000 years old in Genshin Impact lore. Though some like Ganyu are even older, Xiao commands great respect and authority.
Originally Xiao was actually serving another god but was treated cruelly by him. It wasn’t until Zhongli intervened that Xiao was set free from his grasp. Since being freed, Xiao has vowed to serve Zhongli and protect the people of Liyue from danger.
Absolutely, to the exclusion of almost everything else. Xiao has a high base attack, and his Elemental Skill and Burst are both focused on dealing damage.
You can use his skill to help with exploration since it covers long distances, but Xiao is best suited for the primary DPS role on your team.
This inner suffering is present in the design of his skills: when Xiao uses “Bane of All Evil,” he dons his mask, which continually enhances his combat abilities but also continually drains his health. This demonstrates the great suffering he must endure as a consequence of using this power.
In terms of attack speed, Xiao surpasses Diluc, as Claymore wielding characters have a slower attacking speed compared to other weapon carriers.
Polearm users can dish out multiple hits per second, whereas claymore users are usually slower because of the heavy weapon mechanism.
Xiao technically has higher ATK potential than Diluc. This also means his damage multipliers can scale easier since he has higher base damage. The difference might not be that big but it’s a bragging right, having Xiao since, by technicality, he has the highest damage right out of the box.
The best team works for Xiao in the game include Bennett, Sucrose, and Zhongli.
Bennett is the game’s best Support hands down but works even better with Xiao. Bennett’s Elemental Burst buffs the attack of and heals characters within its field, two things Xiao wants.
Sucrose has a key role for Xiao: she provides a steady stream of Anemo Particles to fuel his Elemental Burst.
Her Passive Talents that buff Elemental Mastery can also prove useful when Xiao triggers Swirl reactions.
Xiao has a unique role as an on-field Anemo DPS. Normally, Anemo is a support for other elements. There are not many ways to buff Anemo, as you can’t Swirl itself. That’s where Zhongli comes in.
With Zhongli’s Jade Shield on, it lowers the resistance of nearby enemies to the active character’s Element. This is one of the only ways to debuff Anemo Resistance and can provide a massive boost to Xiao’s damage especially since he’s always up close to enemies. Of course, the Jade Shield will also protect him from damage.
