Swords are one of the five Genshin Impact weapon types that characters can use when playing the game.

Genshin Impact Sword attacks are the middle ground of melee weapons, the damage and speed of their attacks are comparable to those of Polearms, but with a shorter reach.

This is the ultimate guide for Genshin Impact Swords. You’ll find bow attacks, characters, and tier list of this weapon. If you want to increase the attacks for Sword, there are artifacts available for boost.

Moreover, we cover the Sword’s rarity (5-star to 1 star), base ATK, secondary stat, and weapon skill for all swords in this Genshin Impact Swords guide.

Genshin Impact Swords Normal Attacks

A Sword user’s Normal Attack chain typically consists of 5 fast melee attacks. Unlike the Bow, the wielder’s rarity does not affect a Sword’s normal attacks.

Genshin Impact Swords Charged Attacks

A Sword user’s Charged Attack has a small windup before performing 2 fast, arcing AoE attacks in front of them.

There are two notable exceptions to this pattern: Jean’s upward thrust (Favonius Bladework) and Ayaka’s triple arcing AoE attack (Kamisato Art: Kabuki).

All Sword Charged Attacks can launch small enemies off the ground and away from the player, with the only exception being Ayaka’s.

Most Sword users move forward during their Charged Attacks. However, exceptions are Keqing and Kaeya who move backward, and Ayaka and Albedo who do not move.

Sword Charged Attacks typically cost 20 Stamina. Keqing’s Charged Attack, however, costs 25 Stamina.

FAQs on Genshin Impact Swords

Aquila Favonia is a 5-star sword and has the highest base attack along with Mistsplitter Reforged, sitting at 48 at level 1.

Beyond just dealing great damage, Aquila Favonia’s passive ability, Falcon’s Defiance, provides a 20% bonus to the wielder’s attack stat all the time.

The passive also triggers an effect whenever the player is hit while using this sword – they regenerate HP equal to 100% of their attack stat and deal 200% of their attack stat as damage to surrounding enemies. This effect can be triggered once every 15 seconds and provides consistent damage and healing throughout a fight. This weapon will be especially powerful when used by Genshin Impact’s S Tier sword users like Jean.

The rarest item in Genshin Impact isn’t even a 5-star item, but a 3-star sword called the Dark Iron Sword. Objectively, there cannot be an item rarer than this one that exists in the game; the Dark Iron Sword has a total of one occurrence in the game.

This weapon is a solid choice for characters like Bennett, Kaeya, and Qiqi, for example. If your Sword support character needs Energy Recharge, the Skyward Blade will be a good option. Still, the Skyward Blade is less desirable than most other 5-star weapons.
